An attractive choice for those of you out there looking for lowering carbs in their diet. If you don't have a barbecue grill, just use a flat frying pan or a grilling pan and brush it with minimum of cooking oil. Works great for us!
Chili Beef/Mutton Burger Patties

Ingredients:


  • 1/2 kg ground beef/mutton

  • 1 medium onion

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley

  • 1 cup packaged bread crumbs

  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano leaves

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • 1 tablespoon milk

  • 1 tablespoon vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2-3 chopped green chilies

Method:


  1. Place the ground beef/mutton in a large bowl and add the onion, parsley, bread crumbs, oregano leaves, egg, milk, vinegar, tomato paste, green chilies and sauces; mix well.

  2. Store in refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap, for at least 2 hours.

  3. Divide the mixture into evenly sized portions; shape each portion into a burger patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  4. Place burger patties on a preheated lightly oiled barbecue grill or grilling pan.

  5. Cook over a high heat for 4 minutes each side or untill well browned and cooked through.

  6. Serve with salad and chutney.
