A sure winner! Be it tea time or a quickly arranged dinner party, fried chicken layered between toast and white sauce makes an amazing entree.
Chicken Pie

Ingredients:


  • Bread Slices

  • Chicken (boneless) - 500 grams

  • Cheese - 450 grams


White Sauce:

  • Butter - 1/4 cup

  • Salt – 1/2 tsp

  • Flour – 1/4 cup

  • Black pepper – 1/4 tsp

  • Mustard powder – 1/2 tsp

  • Milk – 1 cup

Method:


  1. Place slices of bread in your Pyrex or oven proof dish.

  2. Fry boneless chicken in a pan, add a pinch of salt n pepper.

  3. Now, spread the chicken on the bread slices.

  4. Then prepare the white sauce according to the method described below and pour it over the chicken.

  5. Cover the dish with a thick layer of grated cheese.

  6. Place in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 180C (until the cheese melts).


To prepare the White Sauce:
1. Heat butter in a frying pan.
2. Add flour, black pepper, mustard powder and salt.
3. Stir well for 2 minutes, then add milk.
4. Keep stirring while pouring the milk and make a thick paste.
