After about 12 years, I finally switched back to Intel for my desktop. One of the main reasons was that AMD related price drops are not reflected properly in our local market, specially when it comes to motherboards. I was quite excited at finding out about the guys at galaxy. Probably the only Pakistani retailer who has a website with prices getting updated on a daily basis! So I finally decided to burn some more money on an upgrade, quite falsely convincing myself that this one will last for atleast a couple of years, atleast!

Our dear incumbent phone operator has started a CDMA 2000 based pre-paid wireless service. The data service attracted my attention and after a little bit of struggle I managed to re-activate the connection lying around at home. I haven't been able to review the internet connection and speeds for long but I have seen a couple of articles online complaining about the data rates received. I'm listing all the information I could find related to the wireless connection. It might help anyone else who wants to use this service.

Been living in the volatile technology world for at least a decade now, I've naturally developed a hesitation when it comes to buying gadgets which are bordering on cutting-edge technology. Mainly because I don't trust the edge of their technology as it usually doesn't even outlast the fuel in my car. My last phone was an expensive one, being the first color-screen phone released, it cost me nearly 400 USD. I stuck with it until the keys stopped working and battery refused to be charged anymore. Still I wasn't too sure if I'd gotten my money's worth in the four years of use and abuse :) Finally, it was time for a new phone.
