Third time unlucky?

Too many "tri-quels" coming out for movies this season. Spiderman we all can agree was an attempt to hop from a boyish image to becoming a man. Hence the darker suit, more action and possibly a darker tint to this otherwise geeky/friendly superhero. It didn't really work. I think the superhero's evil-turned-good-in-the-end best friend stole the limelight. He had better gear, better moves and even the scar wasn't able to take away his good looks.

The dusty and perpetually drunk pirate and his return from World's End didn't really spark the right kind of atmosphere for me either. The jokes were OK, Ms. Knightely was amazing as usual, but thats about it. Maybe it was too soon for a third movie and now that its been a couple of weeks after the release, I actually find it hard to remember the movie. Maybe it was just more of the same with a coarse cocktail of mystery mixed hurriedly into the script. But it really didn't kick it.

Shrek and Ocean's 13, I have still to see to complete my theory. But frankly, the news coming out of theatres isn't encouraging. I will probably still spend some money on Ocean's 13 just because there isn't anything else showing these days.

what's it about?

Its all about media, movies and magic. Be it something in print, blaring on the radio or movies and programs on screen; this is the place where I pitch in my 10 cents. You will find here informal movie reviews, actor profiles, music discographies and my comments on them.
