The Common Myna or Indian Myna (Acridotheres tristis) also sometimes spelled Mynah, is a member of the starling family. It is a species of bird native to Asia with its initial home range spanning from Iran, Pakistan, India and Kazakhstan to Malaysia and China.

I term it as one of the nicest surprises on Lahore’s famous MM Alam Road. Amidst its towering neighbors, Dhaba remains a uniquely authentic desi restaurant. While most of the other food outlets pretend to be exotic, Dhaba’s basic reason for success is its deep roots into local cuisine. The simple decor, unassuming structure and friendly staff are some of Dhaba’s unique assets (compared to the Freddy’s and Hardees of today). In my opinion the place has surpassed ‘Village’ ages ago as the most highly recommended local restaurant in Lahore.
Arrival of spring is generally accepted as a occasion worthy of cheerful greetings, the world over. But in our beloved promised land, it trumpets the beginning of a harsh, hot and nerve wrecking season of power outages. As always, there are many conspiracies floating around, as it seems this remains our only verbal outlet to protest against such governance and planning failures.
